Chardham Yatra 2026 is expected to begin soon with a major update for all pilgrims planning their spiritual journey in Uttarakhand. According to the latest government update, online registration for Char Dham Yatra will now be chargeable. This new rule will apply to all devotees visiting Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
The decision has been taken by Uttarakhand authorities to manage the increasing number of pilgrims and to stop fake registrations during the yatra season.
Char Dham Online Registration Fee 2026
The Uttarakhand government is planning to introduce a nominal fee for Char Dham Yatra registration. A special committee has been formed to decide the final registration charges. The new registration system with applicable fees is expected to start soon.
Earlier, registration for Char Dham Yatra was free, but due to fake bookings and mismanagement, authorities have decided to implement a small fee for all pilgrims.

Every year, lakhs of devotees register for Char Dham Yatra, but many do not travel after registration. This creates problems for hotels, tour operators, and local administration. To solve this issue, the government has decided to apply a minimum registration fee.
