Rudraprayag is a town and a municipal board in the Rudraprayag district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, which are two important tributaries of the holy river Ganges. The town is named after Lord Shiva, with “Rudra” referring to Lord Shiva and “Prayag” meaning confluence in Sanskrit.
